Acts 17:16 Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.

When I was a young Christian I remember riding through an Asian area of Leicester and seeing many idols for sale in shop windows and thinking about the men and women who went to distant lands to convert the heavens who worshiped idols and just like the Apostle Paul my spirit was stirred. Now the heathens sell these idols in our high streets. Many houses in our towns have altars and idols, which are worshiped, and we have their temples and mosques everywhere, and even our own people in their ignorance put statues of Buddha in their houses and gardens.

All this provokes me and I think it is sad, also it makes our God angry. I'm always provoked when scripture is watered down and made ineffective because it is sharper then a two edge sword, but when someone deliberately paraphrases it in such away that the meaning is lost, then I'm provoked by that because it becomes a blunt sword which has no affect. I believe that God fearing Christian men and women, are those who are strong in the will of God and their life style is a powerful witness to those around them.

Prayer:

Thank You Heavenly father that you show us that we can love you and also fear you and that we should keep on the narrow way, that your kingdom come your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
disciple John
