MAKE YOUR LIVES A LIVING SACRIFICE TO GOD!

9th January Back to the Bible daily by disciple John
MAKE YOUR LIVES A LIVING SACRIFICE TO GOD!
Matthew 5:23-24
Mat 5:23 Therefore if you offer your gift on the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you,
Mat 5:24 leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. NKJ

Mat 5:23 "This is how I want you to conduct yourself in these matters. If you enter your place of worship and, about to make an offering, you suddenly remember a grudge a friend has against you,

Mat 5:24 abandon your offering, leave immediately, go to this friend and make things right. Then and only then, come back and work things out with God. Msg

In Romans 12:1 the apostle Paul tells us to make our lives a living sacrifice to God so we will know the will of God in our lives. But here in Matthew 5:23, our Lord makes it clear for that to happen, our relationship with others must be correct. It does not say, that if you remember that you have something against someone, then you are to leave your sacrifice. No, it is more than that, although we must forgive others, what can we do if they will not forgive us? What are we to do if we sense there is a problem and we do not know what the problem is?

The fact is that God wants human sacrifices that are perfect in their relationship with others, and we at all times must practice the fruit of the spirit in our dealings with the brethren. In Romans 12:18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. The Apostle Paul says we should be at peace with all, as far as it depends on us. In other words we cannot force others to love us and forgive us but we can do all we can to be at peace with them and show the love, and tell them of our Christian love for them.

Prayer: Lord our God and Father, you call us to live at peace with all men, Please reveal to us those we have to make our peace with, and guide us in the practical ways we can make our peace with those we have offended. Through Jesus Christ our Lord Amen.
