The Model of Christ Himself to Us

1 Peter 1:21 says, "For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered on our behalf, leaving you a model so that you may follow in His steps;"

Our Lord Jesus has set His suffering life, from birth to crucifixion, before us so that we can copy His example, by tracing it and following His steps. This does not refer to a mere imitation of Him and His life but to a reproduction of Him that comes from our enjoyment of Him as grace in our sufferings, in the environments we find ourselves in, weather at work, home or personal, so that He, Christ Himself, as the indwelling Spirit, with all the riches of His all inclusive life, reproduces Himself in us. We become the reproduction of the original, the life of Jesus, not merely an imitation of Him, produced by taking Him as our outward model.

1 Peter 2:15 says, "For so is the will of God, that by doing good you would muzzle the ignorance of foolish men;".

1 Peter 3:9 says, "Not rendering evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing one another, because you were called to this, that you might inherit blessing."

We have been called to bless others, so we, as a blessed people, should always bless others that we may inherit blessing. What we bless others  with, we will inherit ourselves.

Ephesians 1:3 says, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies, in Christ,"

Here we can see that all the blessings with which God has blessed us with, are spiritual in life and nature, and are related to the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God id not only the channel but also the reality of God's blessings. In this verse God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit are all related to the blessings bestowed on us as believers. God's blessing us is actually His dispensing of Himself as life into us, through our worshiping Him in spirit and reality (truth), amen.

May the Lord bless you and keep you, may His face shine upon you, and give you peace, amen.
