In Christ Who Empowers Me
Philippians 4:13 says, "I am able to (can) do all things in Him (through Christ) who empowers (strengthens) me."
The apostle Paul, was a person who lived in the reality of living Christ, in his daily life. He was not only saved by grace, but lived by the grace of God, Christ, who had saved him. He was a man who enjoyed Christ, as his life and for his living. Paul was able to do all things in Him, Christ, by living a graced filled life. His desire, as a man of the new creation, was to boast in Christ, by boasting of his weaknesses in the flesh, of the old creation.
2 Corinthians 12:5 says, "On behalf of such a one I will boast, but on behalf of myself I will not boast, except in my weaknesses."
2 Corinthians 12:9 says, "And He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weaknesses. Most gladly therefore I will rather boast in my weaknesses that the power of Christ might tabernacle over me."
This is Paul's concluding word on the enjoyment, experience and expression of Christ, who was his life, by him living a graced fill life. This is to enjoy Christ, as the God of our full salvation. Not only our initial salvation, of receiving Christ's death and resurrection life through the hearing of the gospel, but of the working out of our salvation in our daily human lives.
Philippians 2:12-13 says, "So them, my beloved, even as you have always obeyed, not only as in my presence, but now much rather in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; (13) For it is God Who operates in you both the willing and the working for His good pleasure."
The working out of our salvation is possible only by living a grace filled life in our daily life. It is a life of opening to the Lord in the morning, coming before Him by the precious blood of the Lamb, and allowing His word, to wash us and cleans us, nourish, supply and strengthen us, to not longer live to ourselves, but to live Christ, as a graced filled life, for the fulfillment of God's heart desire, to have the church, the home He is longing for. We have been saved by grace, live a life filled with the enjoyment of Christ, Who is the grace of God to us, to fulfill God's heart desire, to end this age and bring in His kingdom. It is all of grace upon grace, and that not of ourselves, it is the gift of God, in Christ, as grace to us believers.
John 15:5 says, "I am the vine; you are the branches. He who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing."
To abide in Him, is to continuously enjoy receiving more of Him, Christ, as grace upon grace.
The book of Philippians ends with 4:23 saying, "The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit."
