Bible daily by disciple John
John 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch
cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye,
except ye abide in me.
It was during 2006 I
learned of another scripture about abiding which sets a condition.
1 John
3:6 Whosoever abides in him sins not: whosoever sins hath not seen him,
neither known him.
I wish this text could be put over every
entrance to every Church in this land, it would sort out who was for real and
who wasn't.
Our lord Jesus promises fruitful lives to those who abide in Him,
also if we abide in Him, and His words abide in us, then we can ask for what we
desire and it will be granted.
For a long time, many have been wondering why they are not seeing
the signs and wonders they expected, or not seeing answers to prayer they expected. God calls us
to righteousness and holiness.
We are saved from sin and adopted into the
family of God, and that family has standards.
Paul says Philippians 4:20 that our citizenship is in heaven.
Citizens of heaven do not continue to live sinful lives, but walk in holiness,
abiding in Christ. The word abide means joined to, so we are called to remain
joined to Lord Jesus, and He says if we are fruitful we will bring glory to our
Father God and that has got to be the best motive we can have because then we
will be much blessed.
Prayer: Thank you Lord Jesus for your teaching us what it means to
be joined to you, we want to walk with you in the Spirit of God every day that
your will be done and your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.
Through
Jesus Christ our lord. Amen
