PROVERBS 12:25

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Most of us live safe secure lives and we are protected and cosseted in every way so that fear is strange to us. A few years ago I was aghast as a person I know who attends Church regularly who said she reads her Bible, told me “God was with her in the shower.” That person does not know how to fear God. I don't think that is so unusual when I hear people talking about our Lord in such a familiar way that I know to be very wrong.

Our Lord Jesus himself said this: Matthew 10:28 “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” The knowledge of the Holy is understanding. Well I know God a lot better then the lady who talks about Him sharing her shower, but I know I am still learning and I will never stop learning.

Prayer: Thank you our Heavenly Father who we are called to love and fear. Grant that through the help of God the Holy Ghost we will grow in wisdom and knowledge and know better how to walk with you, that your will be done, your kingdom come. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
