After Jesus Christ raised from the dead He established a New Covenant. He created the requirements and terms of the agreement because all authority belongs to Him. However, not all men are automatically saved because He died and raised from the dead, but only those who obey Jesus belong to God.
"He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father's who sent Me." John 14:24
Yes salvation is available to all men through faith by God's grace. Yet faith has been perverted to mean what God has not declared it to be.
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Heb 11:1
Faith has substance and evidence. However, many people are deceived and say faith is "a hope in the life and resurrection of Christ."
That simply is not true... "We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Thess 1:3
True faith produces work or obedience. "For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead." James 2:26
Said of Christians: "who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance." 1 Peter 1:2
This is why those who believe they are saved, but haven't obeyed the Gospel are deceived (2 Thess 1:8). Nobody can just enter before God in prayer or in any way without going first through Jesus Christ, and the way we do this is by believing and obeying His word.
"Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6
"Jesus replied, "Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them." John 14:23
Most of you are Gentiles, what scriptures do you have that proves you may access the benefits of God let alone salvation through prayer? You couldn't do that under the Old Covenant and you cannot do this now. Whoever told you this was teaching you falsely. There is no place in the entire bible that should lead you to believe you can approach God without following His word or Jesus Christ.
"Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him." John 3:36
Many of the New Testament scriptures people take out of context are not even written to non Christians because much of the bible is addressed to those who have been saved or who obeyed the Gospel. Even the Old Testament is written about those who were under a covenant with God, which are the Jews. It wasn't written about the general public.
Anyone who inaccurately applies the benefits and words that were written to others to themselves are seriously in danger and deceived.
Acts 3:19...'Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,"
Acts 2:38..."Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
Mark 16:16..."Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned."
Acts 17:30,31..."Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent, [31] because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead."
Have a great day and beware of the liars who tell you what is contrary to scripture!
